INDUSTRY PROFILE Monarch


Based at London Luton Airport in the UK and at several international locations, Monarch Aircraft Engineering is an award winning independent MRO ideally placed to provide high quality and cost effective aircraft maintenance and engineering solutions to include heavy and line maintenance, short, medium and long term planning, engineering and consultancy services. In addition to being an EASA 145, FAR 145 repair station and EASA Part 21J design organisation Monarch Aircraft Engineering can also offer full component support, and Part 147 technical training for Airbus and Boeing aircraft types.


Heavy Maintenance


Heavy maintenance from ‘A’ checks up to ‘C’ and ‘D’ checks on Boeing and Airbus family aircraft are carried out at Monarch Aircraft Engineering’s hangar facilities at London Luton Airport and Manchester International Airport. Since the business was established in 1967, Monarch has conducted many thousands of heavy maintenance checks, major modification campaigns and complex structure repairs for client around the globe. More recently, we have formed a team of specialist engineers who have completed in excess of 100 Airbus A320 family rear spar inspections and rectifications for a number of its customers.


Line Maintenance


With permanent line maintenance stations established at London Gatwick, London Luton, Birmingham International, Manchester International , Malaga, Alicante, Canary Islands, Kiev, Goa and the Maldives, technical handling is carried out on Boeing 737CG, 737NG, 757, 767, 777, Airbus A300-600, A300B4, A310, A320 family and A330 aircraft.


Down Route AOG Support and Rescues


We are acutely aware of the significant impact to airline operations and revenues when AOG events are not responded to immediately. We have created a Specialised Monarch AOG Response Team (SMART) comprising highly qualified engineers who are available 24/7 and are armed with the necessary tools and equipment to carry out aircraft rectification and recovery as well as complex scheduled maintenance. This service is available on demand and is managed through Monarch’s Integrated Operations Centre (IOC).


Component Support


Monarch Aircraft Engineering has a team of experts who can advise clients about the benefits of contracting full component and material support across the Airbus and Boeing fleet. With an extensive component inventory with both EASA and FAA certification it is able to provide power-by- the hour programmes or single unit loans


and exchanges. Through its consulting division, we can also provide expert advice on initial provisioning strategies.


Component Maintenance Centre


Situated at London Luton facilities, we have established a modern state of the art component maintenance centre. The facilities have an excellent range of tools and test equipment and several workshops, including Avionics and Battery services, Calibration, Composites, Safety Equipment, Aircraft Engine and Mechanical Services.


Engineering Services


Monarch Aircraft Engineering has a large team of technical experts who can provide engineering management services, including planning, technical records, SB reviews and recommendations, ETOPS management and powerplant and engine shop visit oversight. The team are also able to provide guidance of aircraft lease requirements and recommendations on aircraft acquisitions.


Technical Training


As a Part 147 approved training facility, Monarch Aircraft Engineering can provide technical training for numerous aircraft types and engine combinations. Training can be carried out at our Luton Airport facility or by one of our technical instructors at the customer’s site.

Performing Rear Spars – we’re the leaders by far Monarch Aircraft Engineering has performed over 100 Airbus Rear Spar service bulletins during the last year and is regularly returning the aircraft to service in the time it is taking other MRO’s to access the aircraft.
