editorial E Introducing Our Team W
hile my smiling face typically appears on this page every issue, the key
to Metal Casting Design & Purchasing is the team that puts it together. Below is an introduction to the people responsible for our products in print and online.
Editorial T e heart of every magazine is the editorial
content—the words and artwork developed to help you. Our editorial team takes pride in visiting both casting buyer and metalcasting facilities, helping us to understand the unique relationship you have with your casting sources. Shea Gibbs, Managing Editor— One of the two people responsible for 90% of the editorial content in each issue, Shea has been writing about casting design and supply since 2006. While his career as a professional baseball player sputtered in college, Shea has worked two stints in casting facilities on assignment for the magazine. In addition to his feature responsibilities each month, Shea has always been the driver of our news departments. Shannon Wetzel, Senior Editor,
Digital Managing Editor—As the second member of the dynamic editorial pair that pushes out this magazine and produces all the content for our websites, Shannon joined our team in 2005. She is the driver behind
the product side of the magazine in addition to her feature responsibilities. April Dahlquist, Assistant Editor—
Only with us a few months, April shows promise as the next face to be visiting your facilities. She also is driving many of our social media eff orts through LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. Mike Berrafato, Art
Director—Mike has been taking the words and artwork our editors submit and turning it into a magazine since our fi rst issue in 1999. An avid hockey fan (and coach), Mike’s insane love of Mountain Dew helps keep the engine of our magazine running.
Advertising and Business If editorial is the heart of our team, the
advertising sales and business side is the brains. Rolf Petersen, Advertising Sales
Manager—Rolf has worked with advertisers on how to deliver their message most eff ectively since the magazine’s inception. Born and raised in Appleton, Wis., he has been around metalcasting most of his life (it just
took him a while to realize it). Jim Beckwith, Advertising
Sales—Jim has been working with our advertisers since 2008. An avid musician, Jim also focuses signifi cant time and energy on our digital products and the coordination of our Casting Source Directory. Joe Murphy, Advertising Sales—A lover
of all things from the Northeast, Joe has helped enhance the message of advertisers since the magazine began in 1999. Beata Burek, Classifi ed
Advertising—Beata has been coordinating
our classifi ed section for all of our publications for the last three years. It is a production-intensive process that requires working with hundreds of detail- oriented ads at any one time. Barbara Jackowski, Circulation
Manager—Nothing is exciting about data management. But since the beginning, Barb has been making sure your address is correct and your magazine receives a mailing label every month so it can reach you.
Metal Casting Design & Purchasing (in print and
online) and its sister publications require a dedicated production team. It is our devotion to understanding you and your relationship to metalcasting that allows us to deliver what you want and need.
