Grenville Castings Purchased by Cosma International


Automotive parts manufacturer Cosma International, Brampton, Ontario, Canada, has acquired aluminum permanent mold caster Grenville Castings Ltd., Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada. Grenville Castings is a supplier of


structural castings to the automotive, heavy truck and recreational markets. According to a press release issued by Cosma, the company was purchased for its focus on niche production and development of complex castings, including thin wall and hollow parts produced in the low pressure permanent


mold process. T e fi nancial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. A supplier of parts manufactured


through various processes, Cosma is a wholly owned operating unit of Magna International Inc., Aurora, Ontario, Canada. T e company believes the acquisition will help it become a leading global manufacturer of aluminum structural castings in all major geographic markets and support its launch of an automotive chassis program scheduled to start production in 2014. “T is acquisition further enables Cosma to support our customers


Victaulic Commissions New Casting Plant in Mexico Pipe products supplier Victaulic,


Easton, Pa., announced it has opened a manufacturing facility with casting capabilities in Chihuahua, Mexico. T e site, one of the largest


Victaulic facilities in the world, will produce ductile iron castings and large-diameter pipe joining products up to 72 in. T e company said the addition will broaden the scope of its casting off erings and manufacturing services, including the ability to produce castings up to 1,500 lbs. “T e opening of the new Chihuahua facility signifi es the


growth of Victaulic in Mexico, Latin America and South America and will help us meet demand for our products in the region,” said John Malloy, the company’s chairman, president and CEO. This facility joins the Victaulic


Queretaro branch, increasing its capabilities for customer training and enhancing regional support. In addition to the metalcasting capabilities, the new 133,000-sq.- ft. facility includes machining and assembly capabilities, as well as local operations offices. Victaulic has manufacturing and
