It’s one of the largest Avid installations anywhere, with 27 years of archived video on tap. Lee Coleman, media manager on the show, says the 24/7 operation centres around the newsroom. “Here, everyone – the newsdesk, all the writers and producers have access to every bit of footage, whether it’s being digitised right now or whether it comes from our vast archives.”
But it’s not just deadline-driven media shows with masses
of staff that benefit from the control offered by Interplay. Bogoch says anything from a post facility with four or five editors will see a return on the investment: “The real benefit of Interplay is the productivity gain,” he explains. “The post houses that have real money on the line care about productivity.
