hauliers. Each Pall-Ex Romania member will collect freight from customers and deliver it to the hub in Sibiu. There it will be sorted and loaded onto the vehicle of the network member responsible for the destination postcode. Through this efficient pallet network, customers
will be able to send consignments ranging from single pallets to part trailer loads, anywhere in Romania. This will be achieved by sharing trailers with other freight bound for the same destination and the haulage costs reduced.
There is a great demand for Pall-Ex
Romania’s total pallet solution service offering. Aside of the benefits to customers, members and the cost and fuel savings; we will be able to provide a complete service to the country that deals with any pallet size and reduces the negative impact of Romania’s challenging geography. When we started our journey into Europe, many people within the industry thought that it would be a difficult task to establish our proven business model in new countries. Pall-Ex’s success in the UK proved the perfect model to sell overseas, and the sectors of manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, retail and demand for home deliveries were not so different abroad. This was an easy concept for new partners to understand and implement with our guidance, expertise and resource.
Our first country partner to adopt our hub and spoke pallet delivery network model was Pall-Ex Italia, launched in 2009 and servicing Italy from hubs in Milan and Naples. This was followed in 2011 by Pall-Ex Iberia, a hub based in Madrid that provides palletised freight delivery for Spain, Portugal and the Balearic Islands, where for the latter, it is the only pallet network.
Establishing these different country partners in the main European territories is the first stage of the Pall- Ex European expansion plan. To make the Pan European Network and international freight delivery a reality, we intend to connect the different domestic networks through regular and direct line haul to and from peer hubs.
Now that Pall-Ex Romania is almost up and running, we are looking to establish new country partners in Poland, Germany, France, Turkey and Benelux. ●
