THROWING SNOW ‘SHADOWER’ SNEAKER SOCIAL CLUB


WE’VE been keeping an ear out for Throwing Snow, aka Ross Tones, since fi rst hearing him on Super’s debut compilation and this time around we’re in good company. Opening the account of Sneaker Social Club, a new label run by Jamie Russell, who counts Hypercolour and Glass Table amongst his accomplishment, Claude VonStroke


chose ‘Shadower’ to open his recent RA podcast, a lofty vote of support that’s immediately helped raise the London-based producer’s profi le. Add to this the excellent eerie video, and the onset of what is predicted to be Britain’s coldest winter in two decades, and you have the sense that soon you won’t be able to move for snow.

Carl Craig, John Digweed, and Robotman (aka Richie Hawtin), have seen him develop into a sought after fi xture on the world scene. This live set was recorded at Berlin’s famous Watergate last month when the techno capital welcomed Christian as one of its surrogate sons.
