collection Footwear brand Teva’s spring/summer 2012 collection is based around the theme ‘action

Teva on track with 2012 outdoors’. It says more than half of the range for next year is new and

has been designed to appeal to the next generation of ‘active adventurers operating in and out of the water as well as in the wilds and on the streets’. This includes the Blue Line Collection that looks to pair action sports with traditional outdoor activities with products that help athletes perform at the top of their game and transition easily to the streets. The Blue Line Collection merges Teva’s water performance expertise with leading technologies in the Fuse-ion, a classic-looking sneaker, the Cherry Bomb 2 kayaking bootie and the Bomber Flip performance flip-flop. Several Blue Line Collection styles feature Spider Rubber and JStep, a revolutionary slip-resistant outsole technology never before used in the outdoor market. By combining Spider Rubber with the JStep microchannels to force liquid out from under the sole, these models offer the wearer exceptional traction on slippery and wet surfaces. The Mainline Collection caters to traditional

outdoor enthusiasts who hike, kayak, camp, climb and raft with versatile styles that work for multiple activities in all environments, it says. The ReForge is protected with ion-mask nano-coating and is completely hydrophobic. Its Classic Collection is designed to carry on the company’s heritage in simplicity, versatility and performance. www.teva.co.uk

Helly Hansen goes to the extreme

For winter 2011, technical clothing brand Helly Hansen has launched a new design of its popular HH Warm Odin half zip baselayer created for ‘unrivalled warmth and dryness during the most extreme winter conditions’, so it claims. The HH Odin half zip is made from a combination of LIFA stay- dry technology and superfine Merino wool. For 2011, this top quality baselayer has been redesigned with new technical features to provide improved performance. Helly Hansen says no matter how cold the temperature is, the body will always produce heat and sweat during activity. To ensure temperature stays regulated at all times, the Odin half zip has been made using five different LIFA fabrics to work in sync with different parts of the body. This includes LIFA Coolgrid panels in both the front and back of the garment. The grid construction provides exceptional breathability and moisture management when placed against the skin, by enabling air to flow easily between the skin and the garment for a cooling feeling and better evaporation of body moisture. In addition, a roll-up neck has been incorporated into the half zip design and can be opened completely for additional ventilation when the body is working hard. www.hellyhansen.com

Wolverine sharpens up for 2012

A dog’s best friend Headwear specialist Buff has advanced its range for pets with the

launch of a head scarf for smaller dogs. Buff says this has come about due to the success of the Dog Buff, with the new Toy Dog Buff designed for smaller breeds. Based on Baby Buff, this new smaller size is designed to suit toy and terrier type breeds. Both Dog and Toy Dog Buff are available in two designs and, like the human version, is a seamless

tube of polyester microfibre which is highly breathable and stylish when worn around the neck ‘ensuring man’s best friend won’t get hot under the collar’. Treated with Polygiene, a silver ion treatment which renders the fabric uninhabitable to the bacteria that cause nasty odours, Buff says it will also stay fresher for longer. Dog Buff is machine washable and won’t fade or lose elasticity. Presented on a bone shaped header card, Dog Buff features a retro-reflective stripe of 3M Scotchlite on either side for improved visibility in poor light levels.
