Seddons adds Hyundai


Seddons (Plant & Engineers) has added Hyundai silent portable generators to its portfolio. The line-up includes 1000, 2000 and 2800watt machines with inverter technology, designed to produce pure sine wave power with no spikes that could cause damage to sensitive electronic equipment like computers and televisions. Included in the range is the HY3000sei, which has electric start and a remote operation facility.


Seddons believes that the generators’ light weight and low noise characteristics make them suitable for home and business back-up power applications, and for use by people undertaking leisure activities such as camping and caravanning.

Pramac reports that, following the launch of its P6000 portable 5kVA diesel generator at the Executive Hire Show, the machine has been well received by hire companies across the UK. Powered by a Yanmar engine with a Meccalte alternator, it is available in single phase (115/230V) or three phase versions. “The P6000 was designed to complement our ‘super silent’ P6000S,” said MD Wayne Steele. “It is physically smaller and lighter, which makes it more suitable for certain applications. It is also marketed at a lower price point, which helps us to compete in situations where noise levels are not such an issue.”

As well as selling new and used equipment, MHM Plant says it wants hirers to regard it as a major buyer of previously owned generators, lighting towers and engine driven welders. The company says it can buy used GenSet products, as well as other equivalent generators and welder models from any manufacturer. Director Mat Llewellyn says, “It doesn’t matter if hirers just buy one new or used generator and part exchange five used machines, and we end up paying them money! We offer a buy-back scheme on the new or used products we sell, whatever the quantity, and this is ideal for those who want to keep upgrading machines for the latest models, or to keep hire fleets young. We also offer finance packages, and our aim is to be as flexible as possible.”
