B
isi Badminton is Badminton England’s main programme for junior participation. It aims to offer young people a fun, learning and developmental programme, whilst providing teachers, coaches and leaders with an informative and practical training course, resources and equipment for effective delivery. We are delighted that thousands of primary schools, secondary schools, clubs, coaches, teachers and young leaders across England are using Bisi Badminton resources and equipment to deliver a wide range of badminton activities. Badminton England’s aspiration is for Bisi Badminton to be available to all young people throughout their badminton journey. The Bisi Badminton Primary resources and equipment are aimed at children who are beginning their physical education and sport journey within the national curriculum. Bisi Badminton Primary supports the
acquisition, practise and refinement of the primary movement patterns, and provides
opportunities and ideas for pupils to select learnt skills and apply them in a
variety of contexts and challenges. The associated festivals are a great way to introduce competition at an early age, and to identify talent for further progression.
The Bisi Badminton Secondary resources and equipment are aimed at young people who are in the midst of their physical education journey within the national curriculum and who are progressing into competitive and extracurricular activities outside of the curriculum. Within the Secondary resources, young people are taught using the key concepts to develop, deepen, and broaden their
knowledge, skills and understanding.
Katy Kelly, partnership development manager at Buckinghamshire’s Mandeville School Sport Partnership, said of the Bisi programme: “The Bisi Badminton resources are an exceptional tool for the delivery of badminton in the curriculum. The Primary resource offers a flexible delivery through the use of lesson plans

and primary movement cards, and incorporates differentiation to challenge participants. The Secondary resource is a user-friendly, colourful product that provides an excellent insight into tactics, technique, performance, and the physical and psychological demands of badminton.” To maximise the fun delivery of Bisi Badminton, Badminton England recommends the use of Talbot Torro Bisi Badminton equipment. The high quality, versatility and exciting range of equipment offered to schools, clubs and coaches allows the selection of bespoke equipment packages that meet the needs of all end users. Talbot Torro equipment is
distributed in the UK by Ransome Sporting Goods, with managing director Alan Ransome saying: “We have been delighted to be of assistance to Badminton England for the development of the Bisi Program over last ten years or so.
“The Bisi equipment is very popular in schools and clubs as well as being a significant retail product. The programme has been developed together with Badminton England and provides the perfect
equipment for people learning and improving their badminton.”
