TNT offers end-user connectivity
TNT EXPRESS is introducing a new product branded as ‘Express Airfreight’, which will allow customers to send air freight with a single pick-up from door-to-airport and from door-to-door. This greater connectivity will be achieved through the synergy of the Netherlands-
headquartered company’s two networks (Airfreight and Express), combining the TNT Express network with its dedicated security and Customs facilities. The single pick-up reduces the cost of the service. In addition, it means that TNT Express
manages the entire logistics chain, and customers can monitor their shipment through the firm’s track and trace system. The service will also satisfy growing demand for delivery of goods to the end customer, TNT said. Fokke Kleuver, Benelux airfreight manager, observes: “As TNT has invested heavily in
intercontinental routes, we are able to carry air freight in our own operations between Europe and the United States, Dubai, India, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Chongqing and Singapore. Kleuver feels that trucking is “key”. He commented: “If we see the possibilities to transport
by truck instead of air, we will certainly do this. For TNT Express there is another important advantage. There is synergy between air freight and Express consignments as we use the trucking for both services.”
