Questioning the legality of some K&B products
Dear Editor, I wanted to comment on a piece by
Peter Schor in the April issue of Phc News (KBIS 2011: Lots of new bath, plumbing and kitchen products). I found it rather interesting that he would report on and tout the Jet-Pro Shower Spas in his piece covering KBIS. This particular item is exactly what the U.S. Department of Energy is banning effective two years from now! I wondered if anyone asked any questions of those manning the KBIS booth regarding the future legality of such panels. Surely it cannot be the “hottest new bath product” unless one defines “hot” as something that is about to be illegal! Of course, there is one escape for the company, that being that if collective flow at any one time is 2.5 gallons per minute or less, the product will not be found to be in violation of Federal law.

feedback. The collective flow at any one time is 2.5 gallons per minute or less. NOT all of the heads work at one time. There is a multi-diverter that allows different combinations of therapeutic massage within strict code requirements. The units were carefully engineered these spas jets are more effective than 90% of what I have examined around the world — and I mean the world. The units are being finished up at IAPMO and will have IAPMO and UPC Approval. I was on your website and highly
respect what you do for our industry! We need more concerned people of water conservation out there. Turning one’s shower into a spa
retreat is one of the top 10 bath trends in the world. Everyone wants to bring the oceans, rivers, streams and waterslide parks into the privacy of one’s shower. Some new systems are being developed in using this water ejected technology for recreation (not hygiene bathing) to re-cycle the water back thru the water system, using it like an outdoor spas. Then, final drainage.
