Opening for business in May 2010, the Winkworth Romsey team have enjoyed great success in establishing themselves as a key agent in the local market. The office predominantly deals in character and prime homes in the town and good quality village and New Forest properties.
On the sales side, the Romsey area continues to enjoy a relatively buoyant market, compared to some other regional centres, although it’s not quite as fast- moving as the market in the neighbouring city of Winchester.
The year started relatively slowly but has picked up steadily during February and March with a good level of new instructions. March also proved to be an excellent month for sales – indeed, a record month for Winkworth Romsey.
The volume of property coming to the market, although greater than that in 2010, is still a little down on the numbers
traditionally associated with early spring. With a lack of good quality family homes for sale in the local towns and villages, those that do come to market attract a lot of interest and sell quickly if priced correctly.
The local lettings market is extremely active, with properties of all type and value letting very quickly. However, as with sales, the market is price sensitive, which means properties need to be valued carefully. There is a steady stream of willing tenants and, generally, not enough quality properties to meet the demand. Hence, the gradual return of the investment buyer/professional landlord seeking good opportunities in the local area.
