The Winkworth network of country offices continues to expand, supported by the country house department, based in the heart of London. Managed by myself, David King and my colleague, Roddy Aris, our department markets country homes to buyers from London, the UK and abroad.
A move to the country is on many people’s minds; young families, second home-owners, professionals with the opportunity to work from home, international buyers looking to invest in prime UK property, and those looking to retire. Our bespoke service ensures we capture buyers from a much wider area than smaller local agencies. Marketing to such a large audience means we can attain the very best prices for your property.
Whilst your Winkworth office will coordinate your local advertising and marketing strategy, ensuring your property is uploaded to our website and the main property sites, we will plan the wider campaign. We advertise in Country Life, the Sunday Times and the FT. Our established in-house press office will also assess your property for possible PR opportunities.
Making full use of our network of 57 London offices in your marketing campaign is of great importance to us – we’ll distribute details of your property to our prime London offices, where their sellers may well be on the look-out for that perfect country house.
Whilst other areas of the property market have suffered, the country house market has performed extremely well over the last 12 months. Most of
Winkworth’s country offices are reporting demand for large family homes far outstrips supply, particularly those that are well-cared for and need minimal work, if any, prior to the move-in date. Generally, we have seen prices for these properties return to pre-recession levels and – due to demand – these homes are selling within weeks, often at, or above the asking price.
