Winkworth Basingstoke
A family run business, Winkworth Basingstoke opened in 2009 and is now a well-established and respected local firm. The whole team live locally, so their expert opinion counts for a lot in the community.
Sales have sprung into life very quickly this year with demand for good quality family homes in Basingstoke and the surrounding villages coming from local buyers as well as from families moving out from London in search of larger and perhaps, more affordable properties.
A good number of four and five bedroom homes have sold at or close to their asking prices shortly after coming to the market, creating a shortage of prime properties and this has tipped the scales in favour of sellers. Prices are now approaching the peak levels seen in the summer of 2007.
The shortages are particularly apparent in the north Hampshire villages where we continue to attract a large number of frustrated buyers, who are keen to settle their families in the area and are prepared to pay a premium for the right home.
Residential lettings have also experienced a bright start to the year and it is the same situation – demand is far outstripping supply, particularly for prime properties in the town and even more so in the villages. Our managed portfolio has grown this year as landlords increasingly see the benefit of entrusting the administration of their tenancy to Winkworth’s experienced lettings team.
