Celebrating 175 years
P&O Cruises has a rich maritime history - we can trace our roots back to 1837. In 2012 we’ll be celebrating 175 years of heritage. To learn more about our history and to discover how we’ll be celebrating turn to page 18.
Over the last few years, we have welcomed two new family-friendly ships to our fl eet, Ventura and Azura, and I am pleased to report they are real winners with families on board. This year, as well as enjoying the fi rst full year of our smallest ‘exclusively for adults’ addition, Adonia, 2012 is also the year Oriana will become dedicated exclusively for adults. She will enjoy a well deserved pampering, resulting in some new alternative restaurants, additional balcony cabins, and even some single cabins. And her aft deck, previously for families, will become a haven of relaxation for sunny days at sea. So we will have a range of ships to suit all tastes.
A signifi cant year deserves a suitably diverse and adventurous programme and even with our long cruising history, we’re still managing to discover new ports. A total of 13 new destinations feature – Ancona on Italy’s eastern coast, Durres in Albania and Kalmar in Sweden to name but a few. New for 2012, we’ll also be offering some Atlantic coast cruises from Southampton (see pages 50-55). And you’ll fi nd our epic 2012 world cruises within this brochure pages too.
If this is your fi rst insight into the world of P&O Cruises, I do hope you enjoy leafi ng through these pages. In addition to the many holidays detailed inside, you’ll fi nd articles dedicated to painting a picture of life on board. Our ship comparison guide can be found on pages 6-7; a great way to compare facilities across the fl eet. But rest assured, whichever ship you choose, you will enjoy that ‘P&Oness’ that ensures you really will discover a different world...
