In this issue Target magazine’s Ning Zhang says the next stage of Chinese travellers demanding exclusive, tailor-made and private experiences is imminent. Ning goes onto to say that whilst shopping for luxury goods has been traditionally associated with Chinese travellers, they are now venturing further afi eld to destinations such as Africa and South America in search of cultural, gastronomic and other very different experiences. a plethora of such international experiences at ILTM Asia. Resort on Canada’s West Coast is set against a backdrop of untouched forest, miles of unspoiled coastline and the possibility of seeing grizzly bears, eagles and orcas in their natural habitat. In Europe, art, fashion and gastronomy whets the appetite of discerning
travellers. Château de Bagnols sits amongst Beaujolais vines and offers experiences such as opera evenings, an afternoon with the gardener discovering the vegetable and herb gardens as well as learning to cook with their chef. In Venice, Philippe Starck made his fi rst foray into the world of Italian
hotels by creating a contemporary hotel with a distinctly Venetian twist at Palazinna Grassi. Meanwhile in Milan, the Fashionistas are now staying at the cutting-edge Hotel Straf. It’s clear a world of experiences to suit every luxury traveller awaits the more
than 360 VIP Buyers attending ILTM Asia and over 16,000 appointments have already been arranged. Networking events from the Welcome Party at the Hyatt on the Bund and options on Wednesday evening including Cocktails at the Fairmont Peace Hotel and a Chinese dinner at the Langham Xintiandi will offer plenty of opportunities to make new contacts.
