However, not everyone who visits Switzerland wants to career down a mountain at full speed. Some prefer to take in the gorgeous snow caps and panoramic views on a slightly slower mode of transport: the train.

The Bernina Express takes travellers on a journey across the Alps on the Albula and Bernina lines of the Rhaetian Railway. This winding mountain railway connects northern and southern Europe, passing mighty glaciers and swaying palms. The Glacier Express winds its way through
untouched Alpine countryside, over roaring mountain streams and past towering walls of rock. Key stops on this journey through the mountains are St. Moritz, Davos with its health-giving Alpine air and the world’s most photographed mountain: Matterhorn.
With Glacier/Bernina Express, Orient Express, The Maharaja Express and The Golden Chariot all showcasing their luxury train journeys at ILTM Asia this year, it looks like luxury train journeys are here to stay.
