We hope to work with many of the innovative companies in Europe, and in turn offer them cost effective, high quality wireless modules.” Jorjin has established partnerships with

Farnell is now stocking Harwin’s 2mm Datamate hi-rel connector family

Farnell has announced first stock of Harwin’s 2mm Datamate hi-rel connector family in Europe. The product is available with single- piece, machined metal backshells that provide RFI and EMI shielding. Datamate S-Tek can be considered for I/O applications and PCB-mount designs. Manufactured from nickel plated

aluminium alloy, Datamate S-Tek backshells ensure 360 degree electrical shielding when used with metal braid. Designed to attach to a variety of standard metallic braids, the connectors let the shield braid connect through the backshell to the PCB ground plane. Available in female cable-to-PCB-mount and cable-to-panel-mount configurations, sizes include six, 10, 14, 20 and 26-positions. Farnell’s head of EMCO product and

supplier management, Steve Herd, said: “Farnell is the first distributor to offer its customers the new range of connectors and backshells that will suit many I/O applications in the military and aerospace markets, as well as in industrial electronics and control system applications.” Delivering 55/125/56 (-55 to 125°C, 56-

day damp heat, steady state) performance levels the new backshells can be assembled using industry standard tooling.

Thanks to their robustness and impact resistance, CompactFlash memory cards are replacing hard drives in industrial applications. In accepting these cards, the CompactFlash connector must be equally rugged.

Suyin’s latest offering has been subject to

vibration testing according to EIA-364-28 (III) and shock testing according to EIA-364-27 (A). This Type-II, 50-position SMT CF card connector (5 by 45.2 by 53.1mm) features a pop-up ejection mechanism and two through- hole solder contacts which resist insertion and extraction forces. Locating posts ease mounting and improve mechanical stability. Gold-plated, 1.27mm pitch, copper alloy

contacts (rated 100VAC and 0.5A per pin) are specified for 10,000 mating cycles. The connectors are available in production volumes.
