WE’RE THE BEST IN COSMETICS!

Tis is what beauty specialist Len Klaphaak aimed to achieve when she started her own range of skincare products in 1962. Cosmetics made by beauty therapists for beauty therapists; pure, natural, of the highest quality, and manufactured in accordance with pharmaceutical GMP regulations. Almost fi ſty years later, thousands of beauty therapists are still more than happy to use Webecos products in their salons.

Purchasing from Webecos means purchasing direct from the manufacturer, and thus the margin normally charged by distributors is elimi- nated and you, the beauty therapist, can buy top-quality products at highly competitive prices. All products can be ordered online and of course we supply beauty therapists only. If you would like to try our highly competitive range of products, please visit our website and order our free introductory package.

Clients may feel that they get enough vitamins from their diet, but this is rarely the case. The nutritional profile of soil has dropped dramatically due to intensive farming methods, which in turn affects the vitamin content of fruit and vegetables. Skin is the largest organ in the body, yet it’s the last to receive nutrients. Top quality supplements are therefore needed to ensure that optimum levels are being absorbed.

There is a wealth of research to support the role of nutrition in healthy skin. The British Journal of Nutrition analysed over 120 studies and concluded that oral supplements offer advantages for skin over topical creams; it stated that supplements can be more bioactive and they nourish the very deepest layers of the skin over the entire body.

enhance the effects

As well as maintaining general skin health, offering your clients high quality nutraceuticals enables you to enhance the effects of cosmetic procedures. “Combining facial treatments with targeted nutritional supplementation turbo-charges the results,” says Lorraine. Procedures such as micro-needling and Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) enable the skin to regenerate itself, but it can only do this by using the building blocks that good nutrition provides.Without the correct vitamins and minerals, the ‘builders’within the skin have nothing to work with.

“High levels ofVitamin C and E are vital for collagen synthesis, while grape seed extract helps to prevent it breaking down,”says Kevin Leivers, pharmacist and managing director of Lotus Health. “Other ingredients to look out for are choline bitartrate, which helps cell repair mechanisms and also flavonoids. In addition, vitaminA and D2 are fundamental for skin”.

Maintaining the balance between cell renewal and cell death is key to plump, youthful skin. Nutraceuticals that contain antioxidants have a protective role because they mop up free radicalscaused by stress, pollution, the sun and other environmental aggressors. They are found in premium skin care ranges, but it’s also important to take them internally. “Look for at least 500mg of vitamin C in nutraceuticals, as well as citrus bioflavonoids, hesperidin and rutin,” says Kevin. Beta-carotene also has a protective role, while bilberry extract aids the formation of connective tissue.

INTRODUCTORY PACKAGE

A common misconception is that drinking lots of water can hydrate the skin. This is true in part, but in order for the cells to retain the moisture they need to have their membranes intact, otherwise it’s like pouring liquid into a leaking bucket. This is where Omega 3 and 6 come in. These essential fatty acids help to maintain the integrity of the cell membrane, keeping moisture in. They are a quick win for salons who stock them because clients see results very rapidly - they are particularly useful for tanning treatments because hydrated skin means the colour will last longer and won’t go patchy.

While no one nutrient holds the key to a beautiful complexion, taking a high quality professional-only supplement is a vital step in any skin care routine. “The beauty industry is heading in the direction of treating skin from the inside as well as topically”, says Lorraine. “If you’re not offering neutraceuticals you’ll be left behind.”
