NAPT announced in April that three


more student transporters recently completed the NAPT Special Needs Trans- portation (SNT) Training, bringing the total endorsements to seven nationwide. Daniel Higbie. a terminal manager at Mid City Transit in Middletown, N.Y., received his endorsement in early April. Joining him at the end of the month were Carol A.B. Bowes, CSPT, of Person County Schools in Roxboro, N.C., and Josielyn Rainey from Prince William County Public Schools in Manassas, Va. Te NAPT Special Needs Transportation core curriculum consists of 24 hours of education in a variety of different settings, including a school bus roadeo and a trade show of school trans- portation products and services. Te core curriculum is


supplemented by eight


hours of elective instruction from the NAPT Professional Development Series (PDS) Program.


John Roch joined the Hydrotex corpo-


rate team in Dallas as the director of sales for the company’s pupil transportation business. He has more than 28 years of experience in the industry as a former di- rector of transportation for four different school districts in Texas. Roch also served as a school bus shop foreman and me- chanic. “We are very pleased that John has joined the Hydrotex family,” said Dwight Gleaves, Hydrotex vice president of pu- pil transportation. “His experience in the transportation industry brings specific application knowledge and solutions for our pupil transportation partners.”

eral manager at Kansas Truck Equipment Company on March 31 after spending 48 years in school bus transportation. In that time he became known as the “go-to” guy in the state for questions about school bus mechanical issues and specialized in mobility equipment. Kansas Truck Equip- ment Co., has been a Blue Bird school bus distributor since 1962 for Kansas.
