Laforo Iron Foundry, Sainte-Claire,
Quebec, Canada, has received almost $340,000 in repayable assistance through a Canadian government pro- gram. The Canada Economic Develop- ment presented the award through the Business and Regional Growth program in March. According to a press release issued by the Canada Economic Devel- opment program, Laforo intends to use the funding to acquire new equipment.
The Council Bluffs, Iowa, metalcast-
ing facility operated by Griffin Pipe Products Co., Downers Grove, Ill., recently was recognized by a local economic organization for its commit- ment to the community. On April 6, the Pottawattamie County Growth Alliance recognized the company for investing more than $14 million to install new technologies and equipment intended to provide higher quality air emis- sions and improve the environment for neighbors.
