letter from the editor Nov/Dec 2011
Tose who have come for the MCC will be taking an exam at the end of their weeklong course to qualify them as certified Master Consultants, and some will be going on from there to practice as feng shui consultants. We wish them the very best in their future ventures, and take great pride whenever our students share stories with us of how feng shui has helped them and their clients.
As we head towards the Dragon Year of 2012, we are also celebrating our Zodiac Anniversary! WOFS was started in the last Dragon Year in the cycle (in year 2000) so 2012 marks us coming full circle! To commemorate this most auspicious event, we are making our this year’s Extravaganza Shows bigger than ever, and are currently preparing loads of goodies and surprises for all our attendees! So we hope to see a lot of you there!
Dates for your diary: Las Vegas (Dec 10th & 11th, 2011); Singapore (Dec 18th, 2011); Kuala Lumpur (Jan 1st, 2012); Penang (Jan 8th) and Kota Kinabalu (Jan 15th). We start early this year to give you plenty of time to prepare, for Chinese New Year also comes early this year - on Jan 23rd. Tis is of course good news! Te early arrival of the Dragon means that the coming year will have a Lap Chun, and a Lap Chun (Spring) means there will be bountiful opportunities for expansion and growth, something that will be most welcome after the past three years of clashing elements. It means things can grow, businesses can flourish and we can look forward to a revitalization of the economy.
T
his has been a hectic last quarter for us here at World of Feng Shui. As we go to print, Lillian is holding two back-to-back courses - her Master Practitioners Course (MPC) and
her Master Consultants Course (MCC) - we’ve had the pleasure of hosting students from over 19 countries and the diversity of students continues to amaze us, course after course! From Aruba to French Polynesia, Iraq and Iran, Russia and the Czech Republic, Australia, Vietnam, Dubai, Turkey, India, USA, Ecuador and Kazakhstan, they also ranged in profession - we had a doctor, a farmer, a numerologist, an astrologer, a hotelier, an interior designer... all of them here to either learn for the first time or to further their knowledge and skills in feng shui.
While we have many exciting things to look forward to, October was a sad month not just for us but for the world at large. With the passing of Steve Jobs, the world lost a visionary, a legend, a genius... his inventions were what made it possible for us to have a pleasant dinner with friends while our kids tapped and swiped away on their iPads, what made the gym fun while we jog to our favourite tunes, and what has made it possible to reach so many of you with our Feng Shui World magazine in the AppStore. We pay tribute to him on page 37 and wait with bated breath to get our hands on the iPhone 4S which has so affectionately been dubbed the “4 Steve” phone.
We also feature the incredible story of Amanda Knox - what feng shui taboo went so badly wrong that from a talented young language student she could be so unfairly and wrongly charged of murder, and locked away in a foreign prison with seemingly no hope of escape?
