Zierer at Paultons
Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride and Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter Flight are the latest of eight rides delivered over the years to Paultons Park by Zierer.
Sky Swinger (Wave Swinger) Despite the availability of similar products on the
market, the park was very keen that German manufacturer should build the Balloon Ride. As no such attraction featured in the company’s portfolio, the ride was create specially for Paultons but can now be added to Zierer’s wide range of quality family attractions, available to other parks too. The Helicopter Flight, meanwhile, was adapted especially for Peppa Pig World using Zierer’s Panoramic Wheel as a starting point. “Since the decoration took up quite some space,

we needed to reconfigure the wheel for seven arms and gondolas rather than the usual eight,” explains Zierer’s UK representative, Jeroen Nijpels. “We also changed the drive system from hydraulic to electric,
partly because the current state of technology allows us to get the same functionality with electric drives that was previously only possible with hydraulic drive systems, and partly because the park felt more comfortable with electric equipment in terms of maintenance.” “Paultons has
been a very loyal Zierer customer over many years,” contimues Nijpels. “Both these latest rides feature one of the company’s key characteristics, and that is that parents should be able to accompany their children.” Other Zierer attractions at Paultons comprise The
Stinger and Flying Frog (medium/small Tivoli Coaster), Sky Swinger (double-seat Wave Swinger), Kontiki, Viking Boats and Dragon Ride.
