Multitone
On-Body Testing
The composition of the human body has an affect on the functionality of the pager. As such the technical team here at Multitone needed to measure the total affect. In order to do this scientifically they gathered a group of staff to help them. The team would measure the radio frequency when the pager was connected to a pole, i.e. no human interference. This would be the benchmark reading, then the team would ask staff, of varying sizes, to wear the pager and then take further measurements. To ensure that no staff could take too much offense the technical team would take staff out to a local field to take the readings. When this was done in the sunshine, who could really complain!
Area for on-body testing. Drop Test
As messaging equipment is utilised in so many environments, it needs to be robust enough to stand the rigors of use. As such Multitone engineers developed the Drop Test. Although this is simplicity itself, it involves repeated dropping of equipment from specified heights to see if it will break, a well known network provider has adopted this test as part of it’s product evaluation.
