ave you noticed how very digital we all now are? It wasn’t so long ago when HD TVs, digital photo frames, iPods and iPads were just a dream. And when they were first introduced they were way beyond our normal household budget. But today, advanced digital gizmos sell in their millions. Our homes are packed with them. Digital technology has matured and has also become well established in the bathroom. Digital showers and taps have been around for some time. They were once luxury playthings but are now quite common and the ‘must have’ in the modern bathroom. Not only are digital showers and taps very safe they are also, by default, more economical to use. Digital technology has advanced to such a degree that its precise temperature control can be employed to prevent dreadful scalding accidents. Digitally blended hot and cold water can be accurately set to a safe maximum. These


showers and taps are a real boon in homes where the young or the elderly, with delicate skin, are the most susceptible. Digitisation will help reduce those 20-or-so scalding deaths which occur in the UK every year. Digital temperature control also plays its part in reducing utility bills. Hot water, which recent price hikes have made it increasingly expensive, is not wasted. Energy and water supply costs are kept to a minimum. It is obvious that we are going to see more digital technology employed in the bathroom.

Four displays have been donated to a local Oxfam store. The cabinets range from robust full height pull-out larder units, base units with pull-out waste bins and exciting corner carousels, pull-up bi-fold wall units, luxury pan drawers and display feature end units.


“Paul Saunders from Mereway asked me if I knew of any charities to


donate the kitchens to,” comments Adele Flesher, director for Cyan Studios.


“Oxfam has about a dozen homeware and furniture shops across the UK and one of these happened to be local. I knew they would be able to handle such large items and know how to go about selling them to raise money for their charity.”


Oxfam has confirmed an interest, with enquiries already coming in from potential buyers.
