Peg Malone is a holistic body- worker with more than 20 years experience. She has been study- ing and applying essential oils for more than 12 years, has been using organic cleaning and non-toxic per- sonal care products for more than 25 years, and is a yoga therapist, massage therapist and mother of three.

den Tosch, of Eden Ayurveda, in Oakland, is offering in-home Ayuvedic Cooking 101 classes. The classes, which include all ingre- dients and meal preparation with instruction, are held in participants’ homes and are open to family and friends of the hosts. The dinner (or lunch) event will include learning about the basics of Ayurveda, followed by ways to prepare simple and tasty meals using ayurvedic principles. Classes, which are $20 per person and include the meal, recipes and hand- outs, can be tailored to the interests of the students, and may include: Indian or Western spices, vegetarian or meal dishes, foods to correct specific imbalances and more. Local, organic ghee and Ayurveda 101 Cooking Kits will be available for purchase. Eden Tosch is an ayurvedic practitioner with classical Ayurveda education from Kerala Institute, Shubham Ayurveda in Fremont and Pancha Karma train- ing at Punarvasu Ayurveda, in Pune, India. Her offices are located in the Laurel District of Oakland.

Bras for the Cause Walk in Pleasanton
T
he Bras for the Cause Walk will take place on May 7, on Mother’s Day weekend. The annual walk to raise funds to find a cure for breast cancer will be located in Downtown Pleasanton and will begin at 7 p.m, with check-in at 5:30 p.m. The evening event will benefit three local organizations that focus on breast-cancer cures: Axis Community Health, which will use proceeds to set up breast-screening services for uninsured women in our community; Susan G. Komen for the Cure (SF Bay Area Affiliate), which will use the proceeds to support innova- tive local research and community-based outreach pro-
grams in the Bay Area; and UCSF’s Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center, which will fund research with proceeds from the walk. The 10K moonlit walk, which will start at Amador Valley High School, will also include a bra-decorating contest. The bra judging will take place at 5:30 p.m.; awards will be held at 10 p.m. Women and men must wear their decorated bras.
Participants must be at least 12 years of age in order to register and walk with an adult. A minimum amount of $200 in pledges is required, and every dol- lar is tax-deductible.
