METALCASTING SUPPLIES Investment Casting Cores

Core-Tech has installed a new digital radiography unit to inspect the ce- ramic cores manufactured in its plant for investment casting facilities. Te x-ray unit can generate digital images up to 11 x 14 in. that can be trans- mitted electronically to the customer. Te machine allows Core-Tech to detect internal defects to prevent

product failures on production lines. Visit www.core-tech-inc.com for more information.

Shakeout and Reclamation Crucibles

Foseco’s Enertek crucibles have been formulated and manufactured to hold and melt metal efficiently, reducing energy consumption over the life of the crucible. High thermal efficiency leads to energy cost sav- ings and reduced CO2

emissions. Visit www.foseco.com for more information.

General Kinematics has introduced its Vibra-Claim series of vibratory shakeout/sand attrition mills, which use a solid shakeout deck to remove sand molds from castings. Once the sand separates from the casting, it is conveyed forward into the attrition section of the machine, allowing the casting to be removed. Vibra-Claim machines feature an open-tub design

that eliminates maintenance and op- erational problems inherent in mul- tiple deck units. Lumps are reduced to -20 mesh with original grain size distribution and corresponding reduction in loss on ignition. With proper addition of new sand, reclaimed material is clean and ready for new mold production without

further attrition. Visit www.generalkinematics.com/vibraclaim for more information.
