NEWSCAST Vassar Foundry, part of the network

Tamilnadu, India, announced it has added a new grinding and fettling cen- ter from Maus SpA, Padua, Italy.


Chromalloy, Orangeburg, N.Y.,


which manufactures and repairs cast turbine parts, announced it is develop- ing a new technology center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., dedicated to the research and development of services for gas turbine engines, including re- pairs, parts and coatings. As part of the new facility, the company also intends to move its corporate headquarters to the new technology center from the current headquarters operation in Orangeburg. Chromalloy announced the move on the heels of completing a new investment casting facility in Tampa and breaking ground on a new core room at the same location. Te technology center will be constructed


in a leased 30,000 sq. ft. facility and include labs, office space and a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse. Te facility will house up to 52 technical, executive and administrative staff. Development of the facility will be completed by the fourth quarter of 2011.

Fundiciones Wind Energy Casting, Gipuzkoa, Spain, is preparing to con- struct a more than $40-million ductile iron metalcasting facility in Hutchin- son, Kan., primarily to sell castings to Siemens Wind Power, which has a nearby presence.


Manufacturer’s Brass & Alu- minum Foundry Inc., Blue Island, Ill., has contracted the services of Ecreativeworks to help the company develop a new website.

Mars, Pa., a producer of cast copper alloys, announced several new public relations ventures, including the release of an online metals reference guide and five informational videos to support its North American cus- tomer base.

Optima Group LLC, Calvert


City, Ky., has acquired 100% of the membership interest of the ferroal- loys producer CC Metals & Alloys LLC, Amherst, N.Y., from CCA Acquisition & Holding Inc. and other investors. Optima said in a press release it intends to continue to operate CC Metals & Alloys as usual, providing ferrosilicon to cus- tomers in the metalcasting industry, among others.
