A wish come true for Becky
Essie creates unique polish for a special little girl
A charity dedicated to making the wishes of sick children come true is being supported by Cowshed Spa and Essie with the launch of an exclusive limited edition nail polish.
‘Becky’sWish’ - a stunning bright blue, is a unique nail polish inspired by Cowshed’s collaboration with Starlight Children’s Foundation, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The Foundation, which was featured in Channel 5’s series Starlight: For Children, grants once-in-a- lifetime wishes and provides entertainment in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
Cowshed was approached to participate in the television series to help to grant the wish of a little girl called Becky who wanted to experience a mani- pedi with her idols Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton at Cowshed Clarendon Cross Spa. The Spa’s team jumped at the chance to help and immediately contacted the team at Essie to see if they could work together to make Becky’s
experience even more special by creating the bespoke ‘Becky’s Wish’ polish.
Twelve-year-old Becky has undergone a number of operations since 2004 after the discovery of an aggressive tumour on her right optic nerve. She has since experienced major neurosurgery and intensive radiotherapy treatment, and lost the sight in her right eye just before her sixth birthday. Despite her challenges Becky still has the same hopes, dreams and obsessions as any 12-year-old girl, so her wish was to experience a professional manicure. The television programme showed how Starlight made this happen, whisking her and sister Danielle away in a pink limo to the Cowshed Clarendon Cross Spa with a surprise visit from Holly

Becky said of her wish: “It is a day I will never forget in a million years, I wanted to burst into tears when I saw Holly and Fearne as I couldn’t believe they came to see me!”
EssieWeingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics says of the collaboration: “When I heard about Becky’s wish, I immediately offered to create a
bespoke polish in her favourite colour - I hope she will enjoy wearing it.
“The best part about this collaboration is that Cowshed and Essie have committed all proceeds from sales to the Starlight Foundation. This is a truly great cause and brings a little ray of light to those who deserve it most.”
Following her special day, Becky’s mumViolet has
reported that she is doing really well.
