retirement age, so he's been quite active very late in his life, right?

KB I don’t think he has ever let chronological age affect him whether he should be serving the public.

GDWhat’s the process that the county will be going through to find a replacement?

KB As in all offices which are vacated by an elected official, constitutional officer, an appoint- ment will be made by Gov. Rick Scott now. Gov. Scott will appoint a replacement to fill out the remain- der of the term, and it’s been said that it has to be confirmed by the Senate.

GDMr. Higgs has voiced his opin- ion of who should at least be the in- terim replacement, has your name

been mentioned?

KBTat’s what I have read in the paper.

GD Did he mention it to you personally?

KBYes, he did mention it to me personally.

GDWould you see any changes in the department if you are named the Interim Tax Appraiser for Mon- roe County?

KB Aytime you have a new admin- istrator come into the office there is going to be some change, but they probably wouldn’t have to be major. Tat’s really just a bridge that would have to be crossed when the time came.
