Race is excited to announce that the 2011 race is officially sold out! “In addition to the 40 boat limit we managed to squeeze in a couple of extras bringing the total number of boats to 42. We had an overwhelming response this year but unfortunately we were not able to accommodate all the sailors wanting to compete. We hope they will consider joining us for 2013”, states Wayne Gorrie, race Chairman. For a complete list of competitors log onto www.vanisle360.com

Goosebumps 2010 Goosebumps 2010 was a great

season in several ways: this casual just- for-fun race series of six races on Lake Union occurs in January and February. We had record participations for a single race of 38 boats and overall of 60 boats this season. Several boats shared the first place limelight and some truly deserved a persistence award for coming out consistently for their own fun. Ten boats showed up for all six races and another three had other priorities for Valentines Day. The second race we tried two laps,

but the wind went on vacation, so only half the fleet finished within time limits. Winds as usual were generally mild and flukey on Lake Union resulting in some uncommon course set-ups, plus a pre-start course change on the final race that didn’t get out to everybody caused some confusion. For years we’ve been blessed with mostly dry conditions, but this year the weather gods were playing with us.

Several hot rods stopped by for tune-

up runs during the series. Tantivy put in a strong performance when it showed up for the final race. Muffin took home two firsts out of three races. Shoot the Moon took a 1st and a 2nd out of three starts. Nefarious put on a show by taking a strong 1st place finish for it’s only race of the series. Black Knight and Tenacious took 2nd and 3rd place for the series for consistently strong performances. Tipsy Gypsy took three 1sts out of six races and 1st place for the series. For detailed race results and photos go to our website www.nwriggers.com Our thanks to the Westlake West

Marine crew for proposing and hosting our first series-end party.
