home built wooden Fiona, skippered by Bruce Brackett and his uber-talented sons prevailed. The “fast class” belonged to Mick Corcoran and his dialed in Hotfoot 27, Blackfoot. Finally there were enough of those damn 35-year-old Santa Cruz 27s to make a one design fleet, giving Alex Simanis and his Little Blue Dune Buggy the ceramic pig and the overall for the race. In the end, it turned out to be a
spectacular day with some real hard, pipe hittin' enthusiasts feeding their adrenaline habit. The Winter Classic is not just a pre-season shakedown. It's raw and rowdy. It's blue collar and tough. It's good friends and bad jokes. I encourage anyone to try this race and not walk away with a smile... and maybe a touch of hypothermia. Special thanks to West Sound
