230-grain FMJ ball ammunition at ranges to 25 yards on paper and 8" steel plates. I shot several hun- dred rounds through the pistols so they are up and on line as per- sonal-defense tools. The Burton guns work the way handguns are supposed to; the pistols functioned flawlessly, without issue every time I shot them. Growing older I work at being
a bit smarter, so the potential for me to use pistols for defense is very limited. That said, if I ever had to use the brace — that being “two of a kind, or a pair of pistols” — the 1911 pistols built by Jason Bur- ton are, without reservation, two of the very best of the best I have ever owned. *
