top seed as a result of winning the MAAC Regular Season Championship for a third time in four years.
Siena squeaked past tournament host and fourth seeded Marist 9-7 in the semifinals before their show- down with #2 seed Mount St. Mary’s in the MAAC Championship. The Mount had given the Saints their stiffest conference test during the regular season as Siena survived by just a goal in Maryland on Apr. 24. In one of the most tightly contested and exciting MAAC Championship games in conference history, the Saints ended up on the short end of an excruciating defeat, losing in the final second of the game on an Andrew Scalley goal.
While the loss was hard to take, it was only a minor blip on an otherwise tremendous season. Duggan went out as the MAAC co-Offensive Player of the Year and Herbst

was named Defensive Player of the Year while also being named an All-American for the second straight season. While the offseason has been longer than hoped for, the Saints are eager to step back on the turf for 2011 and reclaim what they feel is rightfully theirs – the MAAC Championship trophy.
