shown tremendous development in his new position on the defensive end. Senior Joe Vaccari has been a four-year man-down defender who has a lot of experience and will be looked upon to fill the third defensive position.

Junior KenWright saw meaningful action last season playing behind proven veterans and will be expected to take the next step this season.

Goalies Despite graduating a two-time All-America in goal, Brecht feels that the Saints are in good hands with a pair of fourth-year members in Tom Morr and Bill Kelly.

“Tom Morr has shown a great body of work over the last few years and was extraordinary enough to allow us to red-shirt him as he was behind Herbst,” noted Brecht. “Bill Kelly had a great fall season also, so I think we have some nice depth with those two, along with sophomore Matt Sharp who has really improved and emerged for us.”

Morr showed some flashes of brilliance as both a freshman and sophomore, when he appeared in 13 games combined, posting a solid 7.43 goals against average and .559 save percentage. He has already had some big game experience as well, making eight saves in the 2009 opener at fourth- ranked Johns Hopkins.

Kelly has only played in 78 career minutes, but played well when given the chance, making 32 saves and posting a solid .645 save percentage.

Duncan Seale

Defense Anchoring the Saints’ defensive unit is senior Duncan Seale. Seale had a breakout season as a junior and emerged as one of the conference’s top defenseman en route to being named to the All-MAAC First Team. Seale will be looked upon to lead the unit again this season and help bring along some less-experienced players who move into increased roles.

Versatile senior Kevin Cotter, who has played all over the field in myriad positions over the past three years has

Faceoff Following the graduation of arguably the best faceoff special- ist in team history, Scott Montgomery, in 2009, the Saints struggled mightily in the faceoff X last season, winning just 42.7% of their draws.

Junior Chris Brancato took just two draws a season ago but has emerged as one of the favorites to take the majority of faceoffs.

Brecht is high on a pair of freshmen – Zach Triner and Rob Hunter – to challenge Brancato for draws in the circle. Triner was a three-year starter at midfield and defense for Marshfield (Mass.) High and at 6-2, 225, will be hard for opposing faceoff specialists to deal with in the X. A native of Toronto, Hunter played five years of varsity lacrosse.
