On-line UPS are robust because the inverter is constantly powering the load with an automatic bypass providing a further level of resilience. This ‘online’ process uses more energy and power therefore realistically efficiency figures are in the region of between 94-96%. If managers are looking to increase efficiency and run in line interactive mode (sometimes quoted as ECO mode) this can increase operating efficiency by around 1-2%, but with decreased overall system resilience and the supply of a lower-grade source of power to connected loads.


ECO Energy Ratings System Energy efficiency is always top of Riello UPS’ agenda. Multi Plus is a state-of-the-art UPS designed to meet VFI-SS-111 – the highest possible on-line, double conversion performance level within IEC EN 62040-3 (quality standard). Master Plus HIP - Zero Impact Source and High Efficiency


The Master Plus HIP (High Input Performance) is available in 100- 400kVA models. Master Plus HIP is an evolution of the Riello Master Plus series, but with the additional advantages offered by an IGBT-based rectifier assembly. This feature further reduces the impact of the UPS on the local supply and simplifies installation where there is limited power capacity.
