Editor’s LETTER
Welcome to the first SNS Europe issue of 2011. You’ll notice that we’ve re-designed the magazine in terms of look and feel, and we’ll be introducing new features and magazine sections as the year progresses, all designed to complement our increasingly significant ‘electronic’ presence – websites and newsletters covering storage, data centres, virtualisation and cloud. Now that the word ‘cloud’ is in the open, 2011 does appear to be the year of the cloud – the early betting seems to favour the ‘hybrid cloud’ as the best way forward. Dedupe also needs to become mainstream (been a bit of a muddle thus far?), as does convergence, and no doubt some other technology will come out of left field at some stage to rock the status quo. In the mean time, happy reading.
