Selling: Baselayer Odlo’s baselayer Evolution

Odlo has further developed its range of sports underwear garments for 2011. UK sales manager Ian Latham tells SGB Sportsabout the Evolution range, and other new products Odlo is offering the market.

A

thletes wearing Odlo sports underwear have 12 Olympic gold medals, 33 World Championship golds and 186 World Cup victories between them, and there is no greater endorsement of our products than that.

Evolution is tried and tested by top-class athletes around the world in different activities, and has been perfected with feedback from winter sports athletes who are competing and performing at the very pinnacle of their individual sports.

The baselayer garments feature ‘Zoned Function’, with seamlessly integrated zones for optimum body climate control and special zones for extra heat retention. This is combined with 3D rotary knitting technology and a sporty style. Evolution is available in four different qualities: Cool, Light, Warm and X-Warm, covering all temperatures and types of physical activity. This means there is the right underwear for all seasons, all weather and all temperatures all year round

For instance, Evolution Warm is particularly suitable for outdoor activities during the coldest time of the year.

A new Evolution range for children has been developed also. This was created due to high demand for seamless underwear, and offers layered functionality and performance for younger wearers. The range comprises underwear and mid-layers that offer body climate control, hard-wearing, high-quality materials and comfort.

As such, Evolution Warm is now available for the first time in sizes 116cm to 164cm, which will cater for children as young as six up to teenagers. In addition, the use of Effect fabric by Odlo prevents the formation of unpleasant odours. This functional fibre developed by Odlo prevents the multiplication of bacteria by having tiny silver ions integrated into the fibres during the production process

Silver is antibacterial and stops the development of odours without the use of chemicals.

There are other product developments from Odlo this year beyond Evolution also. Every season, Odlo adds a new fashion line to its Originals Warm range, bringing in striking colours, sporty colour blocks and trendy prints to complement the classic plain styles. Highlights this year include a new print with neon colours and contrasting seams for ladies and two-colour block designs for men.

This range of underwear also features Zoned Function for maximum body climate comfort and unrestricted freedom of movement. Elasticated flat seams and offset shoulder and side seams prevent rubbing points, and the longer back makes these garments extra comfortable to wear.

As with all Odlo sports underwear, they are made entirely using the odour-inhibiting fibre Effect. At the request of many of its female customers, Odlo has also added the High Power Front Fit model to its range of highly functional sports bras. This front-fastening bra is easy to take on and off. The fastening is flush-fitting and cannot be seen or felt and the soft stitching on the seam also feels very comfortable. The High Power Front Fit has been developed on the basis of the best- selling High Ultimate Fit and is designed for use during high-intensity sports where there is a lot of strain on the bust, such as running, horseback riding or volleyball.

And three newly developed styles of panties, briefs and strings are replacing the previous lower body garments in this ladies’ range. A lightweight blend of materials consisting of polyester and elastane, with the odour-inhibiting Effect fabric, makes them extremely comfortable to wear. The extra narrow and thin edges cannot be seen under close-fitting tights and the underwear can barely be felt on the skin.
