Letters Cruise to Benefit Sailing Teams
We, Captains John “Sugar” Flanagan and Leslie McNish have owned the Schooner Alcyone up in Port Townsend, WA for 24 years doing family and adult charters and youth sail training as well as ocean charter trips. The Alcyone is known around the traditional waterfront as being a well maintained and well sailed vessel. In the evolution of our lives working the Alcyone, we now find ourselves very much involved in youth sailing. Our daughters, Alyce and Darby, who have grown up living on the boat and crewing for us on both ocean and local trips, are now involved in their own sailing endeavors. They are both on youth sailing teams. So, to help raise money for these teams we are going to do what we do best — take people sailing. We are offering two special trips (just like charters) to raise money for our local high school sailing team, Port Townsend High School Sailing Team and the University of Washington Sailing Team. All of the money raised will be donated to the sailing teams.
