The best candidates will possess a degree in either Metallurgy or Material Science, and will have strong experience in iron casting operations and established skills with defect and failure analysis, induction furnace optimization, design of experiment methodology, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods. Candi- dates should have at least seven years of iron foundry metallurgical experience. We offer com- petitive compensation and benefits with some relocation assistance if needed. PATTERN MAKER—Oil City Iron Works, Inc., a gray and ductile iron foundry, located in south/central Texas has two openings for experienced Pattern Makers. Successful candidates will be able to build, repair, and maintain patterns and core boxes used to produce sand molds and core materials. He/ She must have the ability to follow drawing specifications to ensure that patterns and core boxes are configured properly. He/She must be able to establish shrinkage ratios to ensure finished castings are within pre- scribed tolerance levels; fabricate complete patterns and core boxes; modify existing patterns and core boxes; produce all joints, matches, and finishes at a professional level. Knowledge and experience with being able to read and understand blueprints is a must. This position involves being capable of lifting 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
