York, recently announced it joined forces with management and another private equity fund to acquire Aarrow- cast Inc., Shawano, Wis., in July of 2010. Aarrowcast makes large gray, ductile and austempered ductile iron castings for customers in end-markets including agriculture, military, off-highway truck- ing, construction and energy.


Rolls Royce Naval Marine Foundry Pascagoula, Miss., has added a 50-ton capacity ladle in order to cast individual propellers in nickel-aluminium bronze. The ladle was produced by Acetarc Engineering, Keighley, U.K.


Investment caster Alcumet Inc., Londonderry, N.H., announced it has overhauled its approach to quality control, taking advantage of fluorescent penetration and x-ray processes in ad- dition to its spectrometer.
