Audio Technica ramps up the Christmas incentives

Mic maker recognises the need to get into the Christmas spirit with alternative Christmas song and MI Pro’s shop window display competition

AUDIO TECHNICA is organising a Best Dressed Window competition with MI Pro, to reward retailers for the quality of their Christmas-themed shop window displays. The contest is split into two parts, the

first of which will select five regional winners with a Fortnum & Mason hamper, worth £100. There will also be a £150 hamper on offer for the UK’s best Audio Technica window display, which will be judged on how well the store shows off its products from the manufacturer. “In the run-up to Christmas it’s very

important that MI retailers think about how they’re presenting their stock to customers,” said Audio Technica’s senior UK marketing manager, Harvey Roberts. “So we’re pleased to encourage stores to make a splash during the festive season.” To enter the competition, retailers

simply need to send a picture of their shop window to mipro@intentmedia.co.uk. The pictures will be arranged on a Flickr web page, before being judged. Dealers should start sending in their pictures now to be in with a chance of winning. In similar vein, Audio Technica is also

organising a Christmas song competition in the hope of finding an alternative to the usual fayre offered on radios and in High Street stores at this time of year.

WWW.MI-PRO.CO.UK The company is looking for 'fun and

vibrant Youtube video entries from the underground music scene that put a positive new spin on the age old tradition of Christmas carols'.

The nationwide competition, which is being judged by the award-winning record producer, Steve Levine, has been formally launched via Audio Technica’s social media channels of Facebook and Twitter. The online competition is not restricted

to any particular type of music so bands, DJs or music producers from any genre have the opportunity of scooping either the top prize of £500 or five runners-up prizes of £100 worth of AT equipment. The first 100 entries will receive a free pair of ATH-CK51 headphones, worth £30 each.

“We are really excited about this competition as we think it might help bring some added impetus to music during the Christmas period," commented Roberts. “The competition is an open book for musicians, they can do a quirky cover version of a Christmas carol or song or they can write a whole new piece of music themselves – we don’t mind, it’s the creativity that matters.” Audio Technica is asking for entries to be uploaded on to Youtube. The best entries will be shared by Audio Technica on its social networking channels. Alternatively people can upload their video clips to Youtube and email the link to AudioTechnica@deaddinosaur.co.uk. AUDIO TECHNICA: 0113 277 1441
