Determine Your Risk for Heart Disease and Stroke

H

igh choles- terol is not the underlying cause of heart disease. Systemic inflam- mation, resulting in “injury” to the endothelial cells (the cells lining the interior surface of blood vessels), is actually the major contributing factor in the development of cardiovascular disease. Damage to these cells leads to endothelial dysfunction and may result in clot formation and vessel constriction, and ultimately plaque formation and cardiovascular disease. The EndoPAT 2000 detects the earliest stage of disease. Anyone with a family history of heart disease or stroke, a personal history of high cholesterol, blood pressure, chronic stress, diabetes, overweight/obesity, stents or bypass surgery, as well as anyone with a chronic inflammatory condition or known toxic exposure should be tested.
