Safetherm is a cool touch for safer hospitals
Safetherm, the new thermostatic mixer tap for healthcare from Rada sets new standards in safety, ease of use and serviceability. It is the first mixer tap to feature ‘Insutech+ Technology’, which reduces surface temperatures on the hot inlet to a safe level. This answers growing health sector concerns about accidental contact burns, particularly children and the elderly grabbing the body of a hot tap. The sequential, single lever thermostatic mixer tap has been designed with ease of use as a key consideration in the development process. It is easy to operate under hospital protocols, with a maximum 120° travel. This ensures it is simple to use using the elbow to prevent cross infection, while delivering a full range of water temperatures in a controlled manner.
Safetherm is also fully compliant with technical guidelines laid out in HTM64 and meets the D08 performance standard – as required by legislation in NHS hospitals. To further help cut out the risk of Hospital Environment Contamination, the design eliminates unnecessary internal spaces and internal machining detail that could house standing water when a tap is not in use. The tap’s integral thermostat produces excellent performance, managing temperature at point of delivery so that the user does not risk scalding, while allowing higher ‘upstream’ temperatures to be applied to reduce the risk of legionella.

Herne Bay High School makes a splash
Herne Bay High School in Kent has been using Amwell for a number of years for various washroom areas with the school. In their most recent washroom
refurbishment they specified one of Amwell’s most hard working and durable products, Splash. Manufactured from robust SGL, Splash is perfect for secondary schools and creates a washroom tough enough to look after itself! The through fixed polished aluminium hardware for maximum durability, whilst the pedestal legs are front mounted to add even more strength. It is ideal for high traffic areas and works in both wet and dry environments. Splash is made for wear and tear.

Amwell’s cubicles are high-quality and fit for purpose, the good quality fixtures and fittings make the products robust and durable in an extremely tough environment. Their products prove easy to maintain and we would definitely use Amwell again.” For more information and images of past projects for education please visit the Amwell website.
