The value of fish in Uganda is falling. The fisheries sector contributed over US$ 117 million in export revenue in 2007, down from US$ 142.69 million the previous year.

Uganda’s most important fisheries are capture fish- eries, which cover about 20 percent of the coun- try’s surface area and comprise five major lakes (Victoria, Kyoga, Albert, Edward and George).
