The low carbon challenge
The new Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) series of masterclasses kicks off on 7 October in Birmingham. This season the masterclasses will provide insight into how we can meet the low carbon challenge in relation to lighting. The programme includes speeches from the lighting industry’s key players, as well as speakers from the field of lighting design, such as the International Association of Lighting Designers. Brian Charman,
from Philips, will look at the speed of innovation and the rapidly developing standards and guides, discussing how this will affect designers. Other speakers include Chris Wilkes, of Holophane, who will be looking at the requirements to make energy savings, and what benefits and considerations might be needed; and Stewart Langdown, from Tridonic, reviewing aspects
