This is a new level of performance and composites engineering. | The new Firecrest™ rim shape is the fi rst deep-profi le carbon clincher design to offer the superior ride quality of a wider rim body. This radical new aero profi le takes into account the different airfl ow patterns between clincher and tubular tires and far exceeds the aerodynamics of even our own hybrid toroidal clincher rims. | To counteract the intense heat buildup from heavy braking on standard carbon surfaces, our composites supplier developed a new heat-resistant resin used solely in Zipp carbon clinchers. | Naturally, these technologies make their debut with our most versatile wheelset, the 404. Its 58mm rim depth is a proven winner in all disciplines and the carbon clincher version weighs just 1557g.
