iPhone application for energy management

F

acilities and energy management solutions provider GSH Group has launched an iPhone application that it says enables its customers to remotely monitor the

performance of their buildings in real- time. The GSH ienergy application delivers

energy and CO2 management information in an effective, portable and user-friendly manner to help facility managers access vital operational data whenever required. ienergy has been designed to

complement GSH Group’s existing web- based Customer Extranet reporting system, allowing customers to receive energy information even when they are not sat in front of a computer. A range of

kWh consumption and CO2 emissions data will be available by frequency, property portfolio or individual site in graphical

form. It also provides details of CO2 reductions and even converts the savings into equivalent ‘trees’, ‘cars off the road’ and ‘buildings off the grid’. Furthermore, ienergy will provide a

useful platform for facilities managers to achieve wider engagement regarding energy consumption amongst key stakeholders such as the board, employees, suppliers and shareholders, as well as forming an integral component of any reduction initiative. In addition to the company-specific building data, ienergy also offers added sustainability insight by providing RSS data feeds and useful details on the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme. Future versions will include a building efficiency certificate. Paul Cottam, managing director of GSH

Group commented: “This iPhone application is part of our commitment to provide our customers with the necessary tools to maximise operational efficiency within their property portfolios. The effective delivery of energy monitoring and targeting management information will give customers total transparency of data and performance to help drive down costs, reduce emissions and meet legislative compliance.”
