SHORT BREAKS selling & HOLIDAYS

welcome

Welcome to the new-look Selling Short Breaks & Holidays magazine, revised with you - the travel agent - in mind.

Our changes come in direct response to research we conducted among agents to clarify just how important the short breaks and short haul holiday market is. Your feedback was compelling and made it clear that the short breaks and holidays market is very much alive and kicking.

We’re backing agents So, to tie in with our new-look content we are also launching a WE’RE BACKING AGENTS campaign dedicated to bringing this short haul sector out of the shadows, gaining it more support and more recognition. Long haul travel may have the more glamorous, and exotic, image but short haul travel and short breaks continue to represent a healthy 40% of agents’ total business according to our research. Selling Short Breaks & Holidays is the only

publication in the industry dedicated to this sector, so our campaign will pull together all those destinations and product providers who similarly share our commitment to travel agents selling short haul destinations.

“For 2010 we are focused

on showing that Portugal offers excellent value for money. The Perfectly Priced campaign, which we are running jointly with specialist tour operators, is designed to show that Portugal is not expensive, nor cheap but excellent value for money. “This year’s Post Office barometer shows

that Lisbon is one of the best-value cities, on a par with Prague. We’re focusing on regions like the Alentejo, the Azores and Madeira for nature, activities history and touring options.”
