ith the SPVQA series, ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE (ALPS, Tokyo: 6770) offers water-

proof detector switches with left- or right-hand side bent press-fit terminals for easy mounting without soldering. Housed in a 15.2mm x 6.4mm x 7.95mm (W x D x H) case, they are an ideal solution for auto- motive applications such as the mechanical detection of the position of doors, engine bonnets etc.

The vertically actuated push switches are remarka- ble for their small dimensions, high contact stability and long operating life of 300,000 switching cycles. Conceived as 1-pole 1-position switches, the SPVQA series is rated for switching currents of minimum 50µA at 5VDC or maximal 0.1A at 12VDC respec- tively. The necessary operating force accounts for 1±0.5N. Operating temperatures range from -40° C (-40° Fahrenheit) to +85° C (185° Fahrenheit). http://bit.ly/aSxjDm
